field of dreams

last weekend, T and i celebrated the first friday in june by watching the okc dodgers play in chickasaw bricktown ballpark. it was the perfect summer night with perfectly warm temps, a cool breeze, and a gorgeous sunset. plus, we had dynamite seats!

now, i've been to my fair share of baseball games, and had the game explained to me many, many times. but, only until then, did i actually start to understand the game. T very sweetly answered every question i had until i finally got the hang of it. i had the added benefit of also being able to learn more about T playing ball when he was little.

it was the best way to kick off the weekend, and get out of our normal routine. go dodgers!

mini miami heat

i don't know if you know this, but last friday i went on a date with mr. miami heat. he looked like T, sounded like T, but with an airy linen button-up + a fedora and POOF!, i suddenly found myself on a date with the miami guy-about-town :)

while this seemed like a typical movie date it was anything but as the mini miami heat treated me to a special director's suite viewing of the avengers! this was my first time to see a movie this way and i am SO on board! it is a smaller theatre screen but only 30-40 people per viewing, heated recliners and wait service...seriously, if you haven't tried it, it will be your new favorite way to watch new movies. it was bananas how awesome it was!!

so hey thanks mr. miami, this was a pretty fancy date and i suppose i wouldn't mind you taking me out again ;)

art show

last night T and i went to the paseo art walk in the city to go to an exhibit featuring art work T was the model for! we were so excited to go since we hadn't seen the finished product and the theme of the artist's work (who is also a close friend of T's) was centered on ballet dancers. T's features were used in the four male ballet dancers and he was a huge hit at the gallery!

it was such a great show. plus the artist told T that he was giving us a copy of one of the pieces as a thank you for his help! i can't wait to take it home, eep. afterwards we went to big tuna for a little late night dinner and drinks where some of our friends from the show joined us. it was a great end to a great night and we hope the pieces sold well!

night at the opera

a couple of weeks ago T and i went to the opera! the production was called great moments in opera and highlighted a lot of italian and french operas. T happens to be a huge fan and i love almost anything to do with theatre or music. the soprano sarah colburn was in a word a knockout! i don't think i've ever been such a big fan of anyone on stage right off the bat aside from kristin chenoweth. probably what i loved most about her was her sassy attitude and demeanor as she sang. i mean, i have seen quite a few operas before but never knew a singer to finish a note by putting her hands on her hips! it was so cute! (plus her costume changes were dynamite) we just loved every minute of it plus it was fun to get to do something a little outside of the normal routine. afterwards T and i went to our favorite little brazilian bar for caipirinhas and music. it was such a great night out and on a girlie note, i was so excited to have a musical date with T!

cupid's day

so this isn't a real holiday by any means...this is a holiday that T and i made up (long story as to why and how it happened) but basically it's a holiday for us to be sweet on each other on purpose using creative means. i'm sure you are already thinking this sounds like valentine's day which the little schoolgirl within still loves but this is different. T and i have small price limits set so that we stick to just the creative ideas to being extra sugary. i know it's silly but i honestly love it. so today i set out to surprise T at the park with my idea...

so if you couldn't tell, i filled the balloons with my favorite memories from the past year saving the best one in the magenta balloon! T loved it to say the least :)

big tuna

yesterday T and i were so excited because we got to go to the soft opening of a new restaurant in town called big tuna. one of our friends is an owner so we got treated to drinks and food on the house! how cool huh? being the big fish eater i am, i love the idea of a new fish joint coming to the midwest especially one that gives the feel of a place on the coast so i was really hoping big tuna would be amazing and it SO did not disappoint...

one of my favorite things about going to the beach is the great seafood that sadly is not too common in the midwest. but big tuna was like some magic seafood fairy brought the coast to here! oh my gatos everything from the salmon to the tuna steaks to the hushpuppies (my closet favorite) was amazing. and the best surprise, their coconut shrimp rivals that from one of favorite fish places in florida! ahh, T and i were like two cats in fish heaven...we can't wait to become regulars (especially when the weather gets warm for happy hour margaronas)!

a little take out to stay in

for so many reasons this has felt like the longest of weeks! T and i were so ready to relax and stay in tonight so for dinner we thought we would pick up some take out sushi and watch movies. i am a huge lover of sushi and i'm not talking california roll, i'm talking rolls with almost all raw fish. now you may think i'm bananas about this but really, i am beyond banana sandwich for fish; of any kind, cooked any way, or not for that matter! fortunately T shares my love of raw fish so there isn't much feuding except for who gets to have the last roll.

i especially love the amount of detail put into the presentation of the sushi; and each detail adds to the flavor. i mean, what's not to love! so here's to a night of fish, movies and hanging in with T and the pup. *sigh* i am loving it already...

messy dates

one of T and i's favorite foodie dates to have together also happens to be one of our messiest; what started as an impromptu date from an idea a friend gave me has turned into a tradition we've had ever since. if you couldn't tell from the photo, it's crab legs and gnocchi...mmm. it's always a fest of overindulgence with lots of wine, crab, and a veggie of some sort followed by watching our favorite tv shows. i think my favorite part of it is that it's usually spur of the moment and something that he and i have started together!
