in between

[taking a pause in these wide open spaces of my oklahoma]

since our engagement, things have been crazy busy (in a good way). but sometimes, it can get hard to take time to focus on the little things that make you smile. so in spirit of these little moments, i thought i would post a few photos of those events in between the big ones :)

cositas

[obsessed with this light fixture]

currently, T and i are beachside with my family in sunny florida! we have been looking forward to spending this week taking in all the sun rays, beach drinks and leisurely naps to the sounds of ocean waves ever since we left last year. but, not to worry, i have some fun posts scheduled while we are gone...hope you like them and we will be back next week :)

gentlemen of the road, day two

day two of our festival venture started out hot...crazy hot. i'm pretty sure i've never sweated so much in a very very very long time. thankfully, there were a good amount of large shady trees which became our (and several others') refuge to enjoy the bands.

[half moon run, consider me a new fan of yours!]

[laun snapping a few photos...]

at one point between bands, T and i checked out the food vendors and found a popsicle stand with yummy combinations. T's choice was white chocolate, raspberry and cheesecake while mine was key lime pie with oreo cookie. so so delicious and the perfect snack to beat the heat!

[alabama shakes, so much soul and so much more amazing in person]

[lots of hula hoopers]

then, came the outstanding show from mumford & sons...i had first seen them several years ago at another music festival and instantly fell in love. and here i was seeing them live for the second time under the canopy of a wide, star filled sky with my very favorite person and some great friends. an amazing moment in time followed by one of the best dance parties put on by the yatch club djs.

gentlemen of the road...thank you so much for one of the greatest music festivals shown to my sweet home state. we are beyond grateful for the experience, and, even with the blistering heat, would do it all over again!

gentlemen of the road, day one

this past weekend, T and i trekked out to guthrie to check out the gentlemen of the road festival. we were so excited since there were only three towns in the us who were selected, and of all the places to choose from, our sweet state was selected! the festival, for those who don't know, was put together by the amazing british band, mumford & sons. from there, they hand picked each of the bands to play with as well as the cities to tour. to say we were thrilled, doesn't come close to describe our feelings of anticipation for the events to come. so, without further ado, here's our first day via snapshots...

[T and i invented a summer-themed drink to make for the weekend - recipe to come!]

turner falls

our next stop in our labor day weekend was to turner falls with T's family. i had never been but heard it was a great place to hike and take a few snapshots...so of course i was excited ;)

sadly, it was a bit overcrowded (not our favorite scenario).  although, i wouldn't say we won't be back to the falls since it really was gorgeous and i love getting quality time with family. but next time, we will try to go when it's a little less packed!

[how cute is T's nephew?]

and hey, sometimes it's a good thing when your ventures don't go as planned. helps make it that much sweeter when they do!

first game of the season

i hope everyone had a great labor day weekend! ours was busy but loads of fun. first up from this past weekend was the first game of the season. i love college football season...great drinks, friends, cooking out, OU...i mean, what's not to love? this game in particular was extra special though. not because OU won (which was awesome) but, because it was a reunion with family and friends i hadn't seen in years! it was such a treat and while it didn't feel like their visits were long enough, i was more than happy to enjoy the time T and i had with them.
