cositas

[neon kicks and berry smoothies]

last weekend was such a great change of pace. mostly, because we weren't cooped up inside going stir crazy like the weekend before. i love a good rainy day hanging in but, too many too close together can make me blue and antsy. plus, T and i loved the break from cleaning mud off of the pups. i swear, for looking like a polar bear, solo sure does love dirtying up that pristine, white fur. good thing he's so cute ;)

ode to summer

[poolside drinks]

summer is almost here and i cannot wait! not to say that i love the 100+ temperatures but, i dislike it less than the tornado season we are currently in. plus, it really is the most fun time of the year. here's what i'm looking forward to this summer:
what all are you looking forward to this summer?

multi-toned

sometimes, moms know best. almost every time i get complimented on an outfit or item of clothing, it is something my mom got for me. (yes, my mom still gets me clothes...she's just great like that) she has a great eye for colors and patterns, and knows my weakness for eye-catching pieces. case and point: this scarf and belt. dynamite on their own but, when put together...perfect. how does she always do that? it's got to be a super power :)

new to me: museum of osteology

[one of my favorite moments]

sorry for the gap in posts everyone! between some unresolved personal matters and the insane weather we've had lately, i haven't had much mental time to write. fingers crossed, it has passed and the worst is over. and now, back to your regularly scheduled program ;)

next up in the new to me series comes from T and i's adventure in the museum of osteology. to be honest, i had never even heard of this museum but, came across it randomly on instagram. it looked kooky and interesting (with a hint of creepy)...plus, as an added bonus, T hadn't been either!

had we not known the exact address, we'd have never known its existence as it was seated in a remote area between moore and norman. however, you'd never know that once you stepped inside. between the well-versed staff (who couldn't have been more friendly), the extensive collection, and the crowds, it seemed we were of the few who didn't know of it!

[adorable and creepy]

[just hanging with a few baldies]

it was fascinating to learn some of the intricacies within species of animals as well as in comparison to other groups. i loved seeing how excited people of all ages and cultures were to learn and interact (where permitted). had T and i been able to spend more time there, we would have tried to complete the scavenger hunt (pardon the pun) along the way too!

two in one

spring season is so fun but, very busy. such great weather leads to a very full social calendar filled with concerts, food truck gatherings, motown get downs, garden parties...what's not to love?

here are a few snapshots from some of the most recent gatherings T and i loved...

the garden party:

for my dad and my cousin's birthdays, my 'rents hosted a garden party in their backyard. the weather was sublime, the food was dynamite, and the company was even better!

[the infamous bacon bomb because, why not?!]

guess who flew in:

brian, that's who! so, we met up with m&j to take him out to our favorite local dance fiesta. the moves were hilarious, the beats were phenomenal (like always), and getting to see one of our favorite people was perfect.

nmf 8

[deus eyeslow]

it's that time of year again for, you guessed it, norman music festival! a weekend filled with bands, food, shops, and lots and lots of walking. thankfully, days of rain and overcast cleared up just in time for gorgeous skies...it was a great weekend to say the least.

friday:

for the weekend, we played host to our friends tom & leslie, and m&j. since they both live outside of norman, they needed a place to post up, and we were more than happy to have them over. so, before we ventured out for that night's fun, T and i whipped up some of my famous fried chicken and mac 'n cheese. it was too delicious, and the perfect jumping off point for the weekend to come.

saturday:

breakfast burrito wake-up call with a side of funny stories from the night before. delicious and hilarious. then, back out to the festival we went...

the heat started to get to us so, we walked back to the house to cool off, eat, and get ready for day two, round two!

sunday:

breakfast at, my personal favorite, the diner, with another recap before our guests headed back home. then, icy-hot for the legs (they were so sore), lotion to soothe my shoulders (they got a little extra rays), and a nap (for obvious reasons).

we had such a great time as always, and loved getting to meet up with so many of our friends over the weekend. until next year norman!
